The test week is coming and with that the deadline for the first part of your v5 portfolios.
We'll start modestly. Your Portfolio 1 must be handed in no later than Wednesday 31 October and must meet the following requirements:
Form
- you can choose to hand in a printed copy in person or a digital copy by mail

- no handwritten texts or notes allowed
Contents
- your Macbeth-logbook (see instructions on hand-out)
- a short (200 word) comment on content and style of A History of English in 10 Minutes
- your practice text analysis (on Mitt Romney)
- a short (150 word) 'review' of one of the clips from Goodness Gracious Me, in which you focus on the use of Indian (language) stereotypes OR a 150-word discussion of the Ebonics samples we have discussed.
Assessment
A total of 20 points can be awarded to your portfolio: 7 for your logbook, 5 each for your comment and review and 3 for the text analysis. The total divided by 2 will make up your mark.
