Tomorrow you work on your basic plan for your Further Oral Activity. You will get more time during lessons to work on your FOA in detail, but I want to have the basic plan per group in my mailbox before 17.00 tomorrow (Wednesday 28 November).
What should be in your basic plan?
- names of group members (you don't have to stick to the groups I suggested)
- the topic - it has to be related to English as a World Language, but does not have to be about one of the subtopics we discussed in class.
- the form of the activity: nót a 'standard' presentation
- keep in mind that the FOA has to be based on "texts": any kind of language-based source (text, audio, video, images, etc.) that carries meaning. You don't have to mention the texts you are going to use as your sources, but if you already have them, do mention them!
What do you have to demonstrate in your FOA?
- your knowledge and understanding of the texts you use and their subject manner
- your understanding of how language is used (and to what effect) in your sources
