The Great Gatsby: trailer assignment

Watch these two trailers for Baz Luhrmann's upcoming film version of The Great Gatsby and then write an essay in which you address the following points:

•  give two examples of images or moments from the trailers that you immediately recognized as moments from the novel; explain why.
• discuss two moments from the trailers - either lines of dialogue or visual images - that really represent a theme from the novel.
• finally, present your expectations for the film based on these trailers: will it be a good film? Will it be a good adaptation of the novel? Give arguments.

Your essay should be 400-500 words and will be part of Portfolio 3.
